Narrative:

Ship sets are a good deal; but it has exposed a weakness at our international layover hotels. The computers at our international layover hotels need to be updated and laser printers installed. The two computers at the layover hotel crew room are so old and slow (windows 98) they will not display commercial chart web pages. This makes it impossible to review the departure procedures for the airport prior to getting to the cockpit. One of the premises of shipsets / efb is that the data will be available on line. This is not true at least 4 international destinations and probably other international layover crew rooms. Alternatively; internet access fees should be paid by the company at these stations for those pilots who carry their own computers.
