Narrative:
While on downwind to runway 04R; out of 6000 ft we were hit over a dozen times with a green laser southeast of field. We overflew the area and informed approach of the location and to notify law enforcement. The laser continued to be placed on us even from the base to final; other aircraft were lit up also. We notified bos tower after landing. They were confused a bit due to the lack of information given to them from approach. Maine state police were not sent to interview the crew. I contacted the tower on the drive home and maine state police called me to gather more information. Bos gave me a contact number to FAA dca; they never called me for any information. I was hit directly in the left eye with the laser on the first strike. On this event; had I not contacted the tower directly after landing this event may not have been investigated. I also contacted security; dispatch and filled out a report.
