Narrative:
Aircraft diverted due to right gen being disconnected per QRH. Started APU gen to replace inoperative gen. Without 2 engine gen aircraft was unable to meet ETOPS requirement. Aircraft had not passed ETOPS entry gateway and hence aircraft returned after burning down to mlgw.

Title: B757 Captain beginning a flight to Hawaii reports generator failure. After successfully employing the APU generator to replace it; the reporter elects to return to the departure airport for repairs.
Narrative: Aircraft diverted due to R Gen being disconnected per QRH. Started APU GEN to replace inoperative GEN. Without 2 ENG GEN aircraft was unable to meet ETOPS requirement. Aircraft had not passed ETOPS Entry Gateway and hence aircraft returned after burning down to MLGW.
