Flight scape winter radar and composite base reflectivity products do not show freezing rain precipitation over the dallas - fort worth area. Wsi and NWS radar products show the icing precipitation as well as metar reports and personal visual observation. The type and rate of the icing poses a severe risk to aviation. Problem has been reported before to management in the past.

Title: FTW FSS Specialist expressed concern regarding weather reporting devices failures; alleging icing information is lacking.
Narrative: Flight Scape winter RADAR and composite base reflectivity products do not show freezing rain precipitation over the Dallas - Fort Worth area. WSI and NWS RADAR products show the icing precipitation as well as METAR reports and personal visual observation. The type and rate of the icing poses a severe risk to aviation.
