Narrative:
Thought this to be good information even though late; for foundation of new maintenance outsourcing. Already got a taste of this when #3 and #4 idg's dropped off line while taxiing out. Person on the other end of call to line maintenance; which was no longer company line maintenance; was reading out of the wrong operations manual. Asked us to take it airborne and make an engineering comment about the problem. Obviously that never took place with 2 idg's questionable. We taxied back to the gate.
