About 3 hours into the flight we had erroneous fuel quantity indications. After consulting with dispatch and maintenance; we elected to divert. Declared an emergency; landing there approximately 20;000 pounds overweight (485;000 pounds) without incident.

Title: A B777's fuel quantity system began displaying erroneous information three hours into the flight and subsequently diverted to an enroute airport.
Narrative: About 3 hours into the flight we had erroneous fuel quantity indications. After consulting with Dispatch and Maintenance; we elected to divert. Declared an emergency; landing there approximately 20;000 LBS overweight (485;000 LBS) without incident.
