Narrative:
Level at FL180 we received a master caution and a #2 engine overheat warning light. Accomplished all emergency checklists and returned to land overweight. Engine was shutdown after landing. Fire chief cleared us to taxi to the gate.

Title: B737-800 Flight Crew experienced an engine overheat at FL180 during climb. The QRH was complied with; an emergency declared; and the flight returned to the departure airport for an uneventful overweight landing.
Narrative: Level at FL180 we received a master caution and a #2 Engine Overheat warning light. Accomplished all emergency checklists and returned to land overweight. Engine was shutdown after landing. Fire chief cleared us to taxi to the gate.
