Narrative:
After landing on 19R at sna; we cleared the runway and joined taxiways a at east. Northbound on taxiway a; ground control instructed us join runway 19L at H; back taxi to taxiway K; and hold. While transitioning from a to H; I was crossing an area depicted on the ramp as a midfield run-up area. While focused on the entrance to 19L at H; I glanced down and noticed a small area; or island; enclosed with double yellow lines and painted green passing under the nose. It was too late to turn to avoid. We passed through without incident or comment from ground control. It should be noted that this area is not depicted on the sna commercial airport chart; nor could I find any information on the airport information pages. I cannot recall ever seeing this 'island' painted on the pavement at this location before. I was not taxiing at an excessive speed. I just did not see it in time to avoid it as I was focused on the transition to H at 19L. This was a reminder that even the most familiar airports can give you a surprise from time to time.

Title: An Air Carrier Crew reported an area at SNA adjacent to Taxiways H and A labeled 'Midfield Run Up' which is lined in double yellow stripes and painted green. The aircraft was taxied through the area; which is not depicted on the Commercial Airport Chart.
