Narrative:
Departed teb for a return trip on the ruudy two SID. I busted altitude (the 1500 ft) prematurely. The SID reads: 1500 ft to wentz; 2000 ft at tasca. What I did was: 1) depart; climb to 1500 ft; turn 260 degrees. 2) climb to 2000 ft turn 280 degrees. 3) was advised of altitude error (I should have been at 1500 ft). Where I made the mistake: 1) misreading the SID. 2) not saying what I was reading out loud to verify (active listening). 3) not re-checking my work. What I realized was I mistook the first turn for wentz; the second turn for tasca. I was 500 ft high at wentz. I did not identify wentz -- I assumed it was the first turn; and tasca the second turn.
