Narrative:
Out of FL215 I verified clearance to FL230, leveled off at FL230. Shortly after cle center instructed us to descend to FL220 indicating we were at the wrong altitude. We received a clearance to FL230, the clearance was read back. I believe the controller had a mindset of FL230 for future clearance to the higher sectors and missed the fact we were only filed for FL220. An air carrier, buf to cle, a short distance ahead of us had the same situation happen to them.

Title: ARTCC RADAR CTLR ISSUED FL230 WHEN APPARENTLY MEANT TO ASSIGN FL220.
Narrative: OUT OF FL215 I VERIFIED CLRNC TO FL230, LEVELED OFF AT FL230. SHORTLY AFTER CLE CENTER INSTRUCTED US TO DSND TO FL220 INDICATING WE WERE AT THE WRONG ALT. WE RECEIVED A CLRNC TO FL230, THE CLRNC WAS READ BACK. I BELIEVE THE CTLR HAD A MINDSET OF FL230 FOR FUTURE CLRNC TO THE HIGHER SECTORS AND MISSED THE FACT WE WERE ONLY FILED FOR FL220. AN ACR, BUF TO CLE, A SHORT DISTANCE AHEAD OF US HAD THE SAME SITUATION HAPPEN TO THEM.
