Narrative:
My aircraft was assigned company training area charlie. Two students aboard were assigned the mission of traffic patterns and airwork review. The students first saw the flight of 2 fgt very low in our area. We interrupted our maneuvering to maintain visual contact when it became obvious that they were in a hard maneuvering phase of their flight. Immediately before the near miss, we were stabilized wbound at 5000-5500'. They appeared to be on opp course about 500-800' low from us, about 203 mi in trail. When the lead ship was about 70-80 degrees on my left, he began a hard climbing turn into us. As I was still above him, I chose to try to evade by going high and turning (left) into him to keep him in sight. I did not see where the wing man went.
