Narrative:

I was notified of a trip pairing assignment when I talked to scheduling five days prior. This pairing had a 1905L show. Starting at 0448L I received a series of eight phone calls from crew scheduling (from four different people) throughout the day of the trip during my rest period. These calls occurred at 0448; 0512; 0527; 0805; 0845; 1020; 1518; and 1703; all times local. I was also called on the day prior at 1627 and 1924. This is a clear and repeated disruption of my rest period. When I arrived at the airport that night; I called crew scheduling to see why I had been removed from the pairing and given an unable to contact. The coordinator informed me that I had been assigned a different trip starting a day earlier; then removed from it and put back on reserve for the next day. I was never notified of any of this. My official schedule had gotten changed and my rest times moved without any notification to me. Being called 8 times during a rest period is a clear safety issue; especially when the calls [are repeated] all day. Sleep disruption was a very clear issue here. I am not sure why I was never notified of my change in schedule; but can only presume that when I was removed from the trip I was assigned for; that my schedule reverted straight to reserve and not what I was previously assigned. Some procedure in scheduling should be established to revert back to the previously assigned schedule instead of the originally awarded schedule. Also; when a pilot is marked unable to contact; I think that crew scheduling should have to review the schedule of the pilot to make sure the error was not on their end. This is the third time this has happened to me in 5 months. [They should] stop excessive and disrupting phone calls to the pilot on a rest period.
