Narrative:
On final approach the first officer was flying and called for 25 flaps. Subsequently we got an EICAS flaps disagree light and noticed the flaps had frozen at 20 degrees. We asked for a go around and then proceeded with the irregular checklist flaps disagree. The checklist was completed with no other complications and a flaps 20 landing was made without incident. Tower asked if we wanted emergency crews and I said yes as a precaution. Dispatch and maintenance were notified on the ground.
