While on approach; we had a flap fail in the 0 position. We performed all checklists and computations and declared an emergency. The cabin was briefed and crash fire rescue equipment was standing by. We landed without incident and taxied to the gate. The company was notified.

Title: EMB145 flight crew experienced a Flaps Fail EICAS upon initial flap selection during approach. QRH procedures were accomplished and an emergency declared before landing without further incident.
Narrative: While on approach; we had a flap fail in the 0 position. We performed all checklists and computations and declared an emergency. The cabin was briefed and CFR was standing by. We landed without incident and taxied to the gate. The company was notified.
