Narrative:
On approach at approximately 2;500 MSL; I called for gear down flaps 15 landing checklist. When flaps were moved from to 5 to 15 noticed split on gauge at approximately 7 degrees. Executed go around and appropriate QRH procedure which called for returning flaps to last position of 5 degrees. Requested longest runway and landed without incident. Flaps must have sensed a split and stopped moving at approximately 7 degrees on lowest flap indicator on gauge.
