Narrative:
I installed the forward battery on an emb-190 aircraft in accordance with embraer aircraft maintenance manual (amm) chapters 24-26-01 and 24-36-01. I was informed ten days later that the plane had come back to the gate due to an EICAS fault message. It was brought to my attention by my supervisor that ZZZ maintenance had found the forward battery lying on top of the avionics door. I had installed the battery properly per the amm and the aircraft flew for days without any pilot reports.
