Narrative:
After takeoff I called for gear up. After placing the gear handle in the up position all three green lights went out per normal operation; however; the red unsafe lights in the gear handle stayed on. I instructed the first officer to run the checklist. After running the checklist the red unsafe lights stayed on. I directed the first officer to place the gear down and request to return for a landing. We landed without incident. After landing we taxied to an FBO where the aircraft was put on jacks and the gear cycled a number of times without any failures. We then continued to our previous destination without incident.
