Narrative:
I was practicing landings with a pre-solo student to runway 18 and the traffic pattern was getting busy with other students and commercial/corporate traffic. Tower instructed us to extend down wind (left pattern); he would call base. Tower subsequently advised us to turn left base for runway 18; then he changed us to runway 13 and report citation landing on runway 13 in sight. We observed the landing citation and advised tower. He then cleared us to land runway 13. I knew he was working a hawker jet straight into runway 18 and cleared him to land runway 18 which is why he probably changed us to land runway 13. On short final; I observed the hawker was a collision course with us. I also heard tower state 'call sign xx do a 360 for spacing'. Call sign xx was on the ground waiting at runway 18 for take off clearance. We were in call sign xy so we did not respond. At this time I took control and performed a right climbing turn parallel to runway 18 and stated we were going around with a right turn. Tower immediately came back with 'airspeed and altitude permitting start a right turn'. Needless to say; the controller was quite emphatic. Student pilots and student ATC require extra vigilance!
