Narrative:

I was assigned to inspect the forward (fwd) cargo compartment of a B767-300 aircraft in accordance with the specified job card. After the aircraft had been released for flight; I was notified that I had signed-off the required inspection items (rii); but had overlooked a few unairworthy fire discharge nozzles. The fire discharge nozzles had apparently been taped over.

Title: A Line Mechanic was informed he failed to notice during his A-Check that Fire Extinguishing Discharge Nozzles were previously taped over in the Forward Cargo Compartment of a B767-300 aircraft. The ETOPS aircraft had been released months earlier from a Heavy Maintenance Check at a Contract Maintenance Repair Station.
