Narrative:
We were cleared to land on runway 05 buf. During roll out; tower controller instructed us to turn left on to runway 32; turn right on taxiway Q; and taxi to ramp. Approaching the intersection of runway 05 and runway 32; first officer noticed a C172 on very short final for runway 32. Aircraft was brought to stop; partially onto runway 32. First officer made an inquiry to tower and we were then told to hold short of runway 32. The C-172 was making a touch and go. The tower never informed us of any aircraft landing on runway 32.the first officer just happened to look down runway 32 while we were turning onto it and noticed the C-172. When cleared for landing on a runway; particularly without hold short instructions; which we are not allowed to accept; you assume you have the entire runway for landing and it is not a normal reaction to check crossing runways to insure there is no conflicting traffic. It seemed that the controller was working more than one frequency. Additionally; we were never made aware of the aircraft doing touch and goes on the crossing runway.
