A logbook [flight] crew report [that] door 4-R (right) will not disarm led up to this event. While accomplishing check on 'arm/disarm' lever the slide deployed. The outcome of the event was that during inspection there were mechanical failures discovered in the 'arm/disarm' linkage and girt bar floor attach fittings that may have attributed to the inadvertent slide deployment.

Title: A door 4-Right slide on a B757-200 inadvertently deployed as mechanics were trouble shooting a 'door slide will not disarm' report. Inspection revealed mechanical failures in linkage and girt bar floor attach fittings.
