Narrative:
Myself and a cfii took off from ptk runway 27L mid afternoon. We had received clearance from tower for departure and remained on frequency turning southwest after takeoff as cleared by tower. A few mins into the flight I saw an small aircraft Y a little low, but coming at us. I turned up and to the right. The other plane turned right and down to the right. We missed and the small aircraft Y came on and asked the tower if they knew we were out there. The tower replied yes. The tower knew where both of us were and did not make any reports to either of us. It was clear to all that fortunately both pilots were watching in order to avoid. The voice at the tower was one I was unfamiliar with, possibly training was going on. Either way, the tower should have reported us to each other.

Title: SMA ON VFR DEP HAS NMAC WITH SMA ENTERING THE ATA.
Narrative: MYSELF AND A CFII TOOK OFF FROM PTK RWY 27L MID AFTERNOON. WE HAD RECEIVED CLRNC FROM TWR FOR DEP AND REMAINED ON FREQ TURNING SW AFTER TKOF AS CLRED BY TWR. A FEW MINS INTO THE FLT I SAW AN SMA Y A LITTLE LOW, BUT COMING AT US. I TURNED UP AND TO THE RIGHT. THE OTHER PLANE TURNED RIGHT AND DOWN TO THE RIGHT. WE MISSED AND THE SMA Y CAME ON AND ASKED THE TWR IF THEY KNEW WE WERE OUT THERE. THE TWR REPLIED YES. THE TWR KNEW WHERE BOTH OF US WERE AND DID NOT MAKE ANY RPTS TO EITHER OF US. IT WAS CLR TO ALL THAT FORTUNATELY BOTH PLTS WERE WATCHING IN ORDER TO AVOID. THE VOICE AT THE TWR WAS ONE I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH, POSSIBLY TRNING WAS GOING ON. EITHER WAY, THE TWR SHOULD HAVE RPTED US TO EACH OTHER.
