Air Traffic Incident | Operational Deviation Pilot Deviation |
Narrative:
Center requested our aircraft to make in immediate right turn (our best rate) to avoid crossing traffic. While making the right turn the PF deviated off altitude by 300' (35300). The pilot immediately pushed the nose of the aircraft over to return to assigned altitude. To prevent this problem from recurring the controller could give the pilot a little more lead time to avoid crossing traffic and request standard rate of turn vice best rate of turn.

Title: CTLR REQUESTS ACR MLG TO MAKE IMMEDIATE BEST RATE OF TURN TO AVOID CROSSING TRAFFIC. IN COMPLYING ACFT INCURS ALT EXCURSION. OPDEV. FLT CREW DEVIATION.
Narrative: CENTER REQUESTED OUR ACFT TO MAKE IN IMMEDIATE RIGHT TURN (OUR BEST RATE) TO AVOID XING TFC. WHILE MAKING THE RIGHT TURN THE PF DEVIATED OFF ALT BY 300' (35300). THE PLT IMMEDIATELY PUSHED THE NOSE OF THE ACFT OVER TO RETURN TO ASSIGNED ALT. TO PREVENT THIS PROBLEM FROM RECURRING THE CTLR COULD GIVE THE PLT A LITTLE MORE LEAD TIME TO AVOID XING TFC AND REQUEST STANDARD RATE OF TURN VICE BEST RATE OF TURN.
