Narrative:
We received a message from dispatch informing us of an ozone area containing 0.25 ppm from FL360 to FL500 along our route of flight. Neither the captain nor I realized the relevance of the ozone concentration and did not descend from FL360. We didn't find any useful information in the fom regarding our course of action. An hour and a half later we received another message from dispatch informing us that a report was being generated on our flight because we had remained at FL360 and to call dispatch if we needed any further details.
