Narrative:
Midnight single leg departure on passenger flight to dfw. Uneventful to approach at dfw. Approaching dfw on boids 9 arrival. Cleared on 110 degree heading from pivit to dfw. In vicinity of arena crew was ask what runway they wanted, 17R or 35R (wind 360 3). Crew selected 17R. Approach gave heading 090 degrees and ask if airport in sight. Crew said, 'affirmative.' as crew approaching runway 18R crew started to turn and line up on 18R. Tower asked what were our intentions and reminded us that we were cleared to 17R. We acknowledged and ask to proceed to 17R. Tower then cleared us to land on 18L landing normal. After landing evaluation by captain and first officer showed some fatigue due to first officer being called out on reserve to cover trip and the normal weariness of captain flying all nighters. We discussed our selection of 18R vs 17R, and neither pilot discovered the error until the tower asked our intentions. Dulled senses allowed the view of a runway that was to be our safe arrival and mode of getting to the hotel bed, prompted us into a situation I now feel quite uncomfortable with. Pardon the disjointed thought process and scribing thereof. I still have not had a full nights sleep.

Title: WDB ACR ON NIGHT STANDARD ARR CLEARED VISUAL APCH TO 17R. ACFT LINING UP WITH 18R WHEN TWR ALERTED ACFT AND RECLEARED WDB TO LAND 18L.
Narrative: MIDNIGHT SINGLE LEG DEP ON PAX FLT TO DFW. UNEVENTFUL TO APCH AT DFW. APCHING DFW ON BOIDS 9 ARR. CLRED ON 110 DEG HDG FROM PIVIT TO DFW. IN VICINITY OF ARENA CREW WAS ASK WHAT RWY THEY WANTED, 17R OR 35R (WIND 360 3). CREW SELECTED 17R. APCH GAVE HDG 090 DEGS AND ASK IF ARPT IN SIGHT. CREW SAID, 'AFFIRMATIVE.' AS CREW APCHING RWY 18R CREW STARTED TO TURN AND LINE UP ON 18R. TWR ASKED WHAT WERE OUR INTENTIONS AND REMINDED US THAT WE WERE CLRED TO 17R. WE ACKNOWLEDGED AND ASK TO PROCEED TO 17R. TWR THEN CLRED US TO LAND ON 18L LNDG NORMAL. AFTER LNDG EVALUATION BY CAPT AND F/O SHOWED SOME FATIGUE DUE TO F/O BEING CALLED OUT ON RESERVE TO COVER TRIP AND THE NORMAL WEARINESS OF CAPT FLYING ALL NIGHTERS. WE DISCUSSED OUR SELECTION OF 18R VS 17R, AND NEITHER PLT DISCOVERED THE ERROR UNTIL THE TWR ASKED OUR INTENTIONS. DULLED SENSES ALLOWED THE VIEW OF A RWY THAT WAS TO BE OUR SAFE ARR AND MODE OF GETTING TO THE HOTEL BED, PROMPTED US INTO A SITUATION I NOW FEEL QUITE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH. PARDON THE DISJOINTED THOUGHT PROCESS AND SCRIBING THEREOF. I STILL HAVE NOT HAD A FULL NIGHTS SLEEP.
