Narrative:

Taxied out for takeoff to 21C dtw. I went by the turn-on for runway and had to make 180 turn back on taxiway. While making the turn the nose tires went into the grass by 2' and then back on the pavement. Nose steering went over center and would not straighten out. Aircraft was then towed back to terminal by maintenance. No damage. Aircraft was released from maintenance after inspection. The incident happened because I missed the turn onto the approach to runway 21C. I think if end could have been better marked to alert the turn to taxiway to 21C I might have avoided an incident, although I had been on this taxiway maybe 10 prior. Also I should have been a little slower in my turn to keep my turning radius down. Using my left rudder to make the tight turn helped the turn but also pushed the nose tires past center.
