Narrative:
Very busy day VFR tower. Usually when we are busy we open assistant local position. Unfortunately 2 people were out to lunch and the supervisor was helping the ground controller by making the ATIS (4 controllers, 1 supervisor for shift). Small aircraft X was cleared for touch and go. Small aircraft Y had previously been taxied into position and hold awaiting departure separation. I got sidetracked with a very busy frequency, when small aircraft X said he was going around because there was an aircraft on the runway. I rogered small aircraft X and when separation existed, I cleared small aircraft Y for takeoff. Small aircraft X went around on a quarter mile final and began climbing. Small aircraft Y was 1500' down the runway but small aircraft X had to pass over him since both downwinds were busy. Problems: I forgot small aircraft Y, small aircraft Y was at an abnormal taxiway for intersection departure. Sun was setting on the horizon and although thursday evening is predominantly our heaviest traffic, we did not have assistant local position open. Although I take full responsibility for my actions, the extra set of eyes and ears always helps.

Title: SMA ON SHORT FINAL WENT AROUND AND CONFLICTED WITH A DEPARTING SMA.
Narrative: VERY BUSY DAY VFR TWR. USUALLY WHEN WE ARE BUSY WE OPEN ASSISTANT LCL POSITION. UNFORTUNATELY 2 PEOPLE WERE OUT TO LUNCH AND THE SUPVR WAS HELPING THE GND CTLR BY MAKING THE ATIS (4 CTLRS, 1 SUPVR FOR SHIFT). SMA X WAS CLRED FOR TOUCH AND GO. SMA Y HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN TAXIED INTO POSITION AND HOLD AWAITING DEP SEPARATION. I GOT SIDETRACKED WITH A VERY BUSY FREQ, WHEN SMA X SAID HE WAS GOING AROUND BECAUSE THERE WAS AN ACFT ON THE RWY. I ROGERED SMA X AND WHEN SEPARATION EXISTED, I CLRED SMA Y FOR TKOF. SMA X WENT AROUND ON A QUARTER MILE FINAL AND BEGAN CLIMBING. SMA Y WAS 1500' DOWN THE RWY BUT SMA X HAD TO PASS OVER HIM SINCE BOTH DOWNWINDS WERE BUSY. PROBLEMS: I FORGOT SMA Y, SMA Y WAS AT AN ABNORMAL TXWY FOR INTXN DEP. SUN WAS SETTING ON THE HORIZON AND ALTHOUGH THURSDAY EVENING IS PREDOMINANTLY OUR HEAVIEST TFC, WE DID NOT HAVE ASSISTANT LCL POSITION OPEN. ALTHOUGH I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY ACTIONS, THE EXTRA SET OF EYES AND EARS ALWAYS HELPS.
