Narrative:
Our original flight plan had us using a different arrival into iah. After changing the runway configuration; we were issued the hkory one RNAV arrival into iah landing on runway 8R. Both pilots were using the ipad for the arrivals. We both looked at the runway configuration and both agreed that 8R was a north runway and that we would use the domno transition to that runway as it comes in from the north side of the airfield. We were both zoomed-in on the ipad to check crossing restrictions etc. Neither of us noticed the notes box at the bottom of the arrival telling us to use the howln transition to runway 8R or runway 9. At prays intersection the aircraft turned to the 319 track outbound and just rolled out on that track when ATC asked us to confirm we were using the 8R transition from howln. They told us to turn to 250 and they would vector us to final. We were no more than a mile or two north of prays before our turn to heading 250. No other aircraft were vectored to avoid us. The flight continued to 8R without further incident and no one in ATC commented on this any further.

Title: Arriving into IAH off the HKORY1; B737 flight crew is issued a runway change from Runway 9 to Runway 8R. The crew makes an incorrect assumption that this runway requires a north transition over DOMNO. The routing note describing the route for each runway is missed when the iPad is zoomed in.
