Narrative:
Called for taxi clearance at bos. Ground control cleared flight to taxi to runway 9 hold short of 4L overrun on (bravo). We taxied out and confirmed with ground control the hold short instructions. When we came to a stop short of the 4L overrun on bravo taxiway, ground control asked us why we didn't hold short at the sign 100' behind us. We told him we didn't see the sign. Ground control told us 4 other aircraft had failed to hold short just previously. I looked at the airport chart and could not find the hold short warning line or sign notation.
