Narrative:
After being cleared for ILS 07 at burbank by approach control, switched over to tower and he advised us traffic was at 2 O'clock 1 mi at about 1900'. We advised him traffic was not in sight, it was very hazy. Captain was flying ILS and we were on localizer and glide slope. Shortly the tower said traffic was now at '2 O'clock and 1/2 mi, traffic alert recommend you level off'. We were now at about 2300' MSL and the captain immediately leveled off. I then spotted the aircraft passing below us (a single engine small aircraft northbound at what appeared to be about 300-400' below us. After clearing the traffic, captain continued the approach and landed normally.
