Narrative:
I was passing through the salt lake area. I departed mountain home and set my LORAN up for the salt lake city airport. By the use of a wall chart as well as a sectional (salt lake) I anticipated clearing restr area 6404A. When I contacted salt lake approach control I was made aware that clover control wished me to contact them at 127.1. Since my communication 7 was inoperative and my backup does not have that frequency, I was unable to. Instead, I called clover control upon landing. I was told that the phone call would take care of the problem. However, somehow FAA found out about the matter and called me today. That was, of course, disappointing since the supervisor at clover said otherwise. This is the reason for a late report. The boundaries of the restr area are confusing since it ends in the middle of salt lake.

Narrative: I WAS PASSING THROUGH THE SALT LAKE AREA. I DEPARTED MOUNTAIN HOME AND SET MY LORAN UP FOR THE SALT LAKE CITY ARPT. BY THE USE OF A WALL CHART AS WELL AS A SECTIONAL (SALT LAKE) I ANTICIPATED CLEARING RESTR AREA 6404A. WHEN I CONTACTED SALT LAKE APCH CTL I WAS MADE AWARE THAT CLOVER CTL WISHED ME TO CONTACT THEM AT 127.1. SINCE MY COM 7 WAS INOPERATIVE AND MY BACKUP DOES NOT HAVE THAT FREQ, I WAS UNABLE TO. INSTEAD, I CALLED CLOVER CTL UPON LNDG. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PHONE CALL WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, SOMEHOW FAA FOUND OUT ABOUT THE MATTER AND CALLED ME TODAY. THAT WAS, OF COURSE, DISAPPOINTING SINCE THE SUPVR AT CLOVER SAID OTHERWISE. THIS IS THE REASON FOR A LATE REPORT.
