Narrative:
Atlanta center cleared our flight to climb from FL260 to FL280 at approximately XX10Z. Sometime around XX15Z we were asked by center (125.62) what our last assigned altitude was. When we replied, we were immediately given a vector off course for traffic, along with another aircraft. When we inquired if a conflict existed, we were informed that there was no conflict.
