Narrative:

After waiting in line at atl for 2:25 mins for a line of thunderstorms to pass our flight, was cleared 'into position and hold runway 8R, wind 270/10.' as the captain taxied onto the runway, I stated 'that's a 10 KT tailwind--that's our limit, right?' he replied 'that's correct.' about 2 mins later we were 'cleared for takeoff runway 8R, wind 270/12.' I was flying, so I looked at the captain and said '12 KTS?' he stated 'let's go.' I advised him I would not rotate until vr + 12 and initiated the takeoff. The takeoff proceeded normally with no problems; however, I was furious with myself that I didn't insist on delaying the flight further by using runway 26. I was also furious that my captain chose to put me in a situation where I needed to take a stand. He knew our tailwind limit was 10 KTS and I advised him twice that 10 KTS was limiting. Next time I will take a stand and insist we change runways.

Title: ACR FLT CREW DEPARTED WITH TAILWIND IN EXCESS OF THEIR LIMIT.

Narrative: AFTER WAITING IN LINE AT ATL FOR 2:25 MINS FOR A LINE OF TSTMS TO PASS OUR FLT, WAS CLRED 'INTO POS AND HOLD RWY 8R, WIND 270/10.' AS THE CAPT TAXIED ONTO THE RWY, I STATED 'THAT'S A 10 KT TAILWIND--THAT'S OUR LIMIT, RIGHT?' HE REPLIED 'THAT'S CORRECT.' ABOUT 2 MINS LATER WE WERE 'CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 8R, WIND 270/12.' I WAS FLYING, SO I LOOKED AT THE CAPT AND SAID '12 KTS?' HE STATED 'LET'S GO.' I ADVISED HIM I WOULD NOT ROTATE UNTIL VR + 12 AND INITIATED THE TKOF. THE TKOF PROCEEDED NORMALLY WITH NO PROBS; HOWEVER, I WAS FURIOUS WITH MYSELF THAT I DIDN'T INSIST ON DELAYING THE FLT FURTHER BY USING RWY 26. I WAS ALSO FURIOUS THAT MY CAPT CHOSE TO PUT ME IN A SITUATION WHERE I NEEDED TO TAKE A STAND. HE KNEW OUR TAILWIND LIMIT WAS 10 KTS AND I ADVISED HIM TWICE THAT 10 KTS WAS LIMITING. NEXT TIME I WILL TAKE A STAND AND INSIST WE CHANGE RWYS.
