Narrative:
While taxiing to runway 19R at sna I inadvertently taxied onto 19L west/O a clearance. I did not recognize my mistake until it was too late to turn around. I continued a short distance and turned off on a diagonal to hold short of 19R. During the time we were in control with the tower and were aware that an airplane for 19L was on about 3 mi final and executed a missed approach. Our aircraft remained well clear at all times and we were not in danger. I feel the main reason for this mistake was construction near the active runway and taxiway. I had not flown into sna for several months and was not familiar with the modified taxi route for 19R. There was construction very close to 19L and I did not realize it was the runway, but thought it was a continuation of the route to our normal crossing point. A contributing factor was probably cockpit workload--getting ready for takeoff. One thing that might help other pilots in this situation would be better markings--possibly signs--where there is construction this close to active runways and txwys.

Title: FLT CREW OF CORP JET INADVERTENTLY CROSSES RWY 19L AT SNA DUE TO THEIR CONFUSION ABOUT THEIR TAXI ROUTE CAUSED BY CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS. ANOTHER ACFT ON FINAL MAKES MISSED APCH.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING TO RWY 19R AT SNA I INADVERTENTLY TAXIED ONTO 19L W/O A CLRNC. I DID NOT RECOGNIZE MY MISTAKE UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE TO TURN AROUND. I CONTINUED A SHORT DISTANCE AND TURNED OFF ON A DIAGONAL TO HOLD SHORT OF 19R. DURING THE TIME WE WERE IN CONTROL WITH THE TWR AND WERE AWARE THAT AN AIRPLANE FOR 19L WAS ON ABOUT 3 MI FINAL AND EXECUTED A MISSED APCH. OUR ACFT REMAINED WELL CLR AT ALL TIMES AND WE WERE NOT IN DANGER. I FEEL THE MAIN REASON FOR THIS MISTAKE WAS CONSTRUCTION NEAR THE ACTIVE RWY AND TXWY. I HAD NOT FLOWN INTO SNA FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE MODIFIED TAXI RTE FOR 19R. THERE WAS CONSTRUCTION VERY CLOSE TO 19L AND I DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS THE RWY, BUT THOUGHT IT WAS A CONTINUATION OF THE RTE TO OUR NORMAL XING POINT. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS PROBABLY COCKPIT WORKLOAD--GETTING READY FOR TKOF. ONE THING THAT MIGHT HELP OTHER PLTS IN THIS SITUATION WOULD BE BETTER MARKINGS--POSSIBLY SIGNS--WHERE THERE IS CONSTRUCTION THIS CLOSE TO ACTIVE RWYS AND TXWYS.
