Narrative:
In loading company routing in the FMC, abq-den, the routing came up abq-friho, flyby-ALS. We were cleared via the abq 6 departure ALS transition. This was entered into the FMC by the copilot. We had an omc observer aboard and were going to show off the machine. I got a little behind in my setup and didn't do a thorough check on the routing. I asked the copilot if he'd inserted the routine. He said he had. I gave a quick look and accepted it. After takeoff we turned to 310 degrees to intercept the transition, and somehow intercepted the routing via friho instead of the 016 degree on the alamosa transition. Contributing factors: 1) explaining to omc, demonstrating the setup, made me rush and diverted my attention. 2) copilot said he was familiar with area, and I was on my second entry. Put too much confidence in his experience. Supplemental information from acn 136063: routing back to den via abq 6 ala transition was loaded into FMC. Subsequent power shift (APU to external to APU) completed. Upon departure we did not recognize deletion of SID from FMC routing.

SUBSEQUENT PWR SHIFT (APU TO EXTERNAL TO APU) COMPLETED. UPON DEP WE DID NOT RECOGNIZE DELETION OF SID FROM FMC ROUTING.
