Narrative:
Ewr to btv #2 engine oil pressure/filter bypass light came on during approach descent phase of flight. Approach control was notified and company procedures/checklists were followed requiring a precautionary engine shutdown. The crew did not declare an emergency, however, approach control initiated emergency procedures. The flight continued to an uneventful landing.

Title: FLT CREW OF ACR LGT EXPERIENCES ENGINE FAILURE DURING DESCENT INTO BTV. ENGINE IS SHUT DOWN AND APCH AND LNDG ARE COMPLETED WITHOUT FURTHER PROBLEM.
Narrative: EWR TO BTV #2 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE/FILTER BYPASS LIGHT CAME ON DURING APCH DSCNT PHASE OF FLT. APCH CTL WAS NOTIFIED AND COMPANY PROCS/CHECKLISTS WERE FOLLOWED REQUIRING A PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE CREW DID NOT DECLARE AN EMER, HOWEVER, APCH CTL INITIATED EMER PROCS. THE FLT CONTINUED TO AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG.
