Narrative:

I was practicing lndgs at akr with my student. We had just taken off runway 25 climbing out on the crosswind leg, then turned to the downwind leg. We were at 1900' MSL. I then pulled the throttle of the engine to simulate an engine failure. He went through the engine out procedure and picked runway 01 to land on. I said ok, and told him to do what he had to do to land. At the same time, there was an aircraft on final for a full stop on runway 25. My student slipped the aircraft down to land. When he started his flare the wind went to a tail wind, the aircraft landing 25 did a touch and go. Our right wheel touched down. I called my aircraft and executed a go around. We climbed out and missed the other aircraft who was still rolling before adding power. I just let him do the wrong thing and take it too far. We should have executed a simulated engine out landing on 25 (we could have made that easily), but I wanted to let him go through with his decision.

Title: CLOSE PROX GA SMA ON TRAINING FLT MAKING A SIMULATED ENGINE OUT APCH LNDG AND GA SMA MAKING A TOUCH AND GO ON CROSSING RWY.

Narrative: I WAS PRACTICING LNDGS AT AKR WITH MY STUDENT. WE HAD JUST TAKEN OFF RWY 25 CLBING OUT ON THE XWIND LEG, THEN TURNED TO THE DOWNWIND LEG. WE WERE AT 1900' MSL. I THEN PULLED THE THROTTLE OF THE ENG TO SIMULATE AN ENG FAILURE. HE WENT THROUGH THE ENG OUT PROC AND PICKED RWY 01 TO LAND ON. I SAID OK, AND TOLD HIM TO DO WHAT HE HAD TO DO TO LAND. AT THE SAME TIME, THERE WAS AN ACFT ON FINAL FOR A FULL STOP ON RWY 25. MY STUDENT SLIPPED THE ACFT DOWN TO LAND. WHEN HE STARTED HIS FLARE THE WIND WENT TO A TAIL WIND, THE ACFT LNDG 25 DID A TOUCH AND GO. OUR RIGHT WHEEL TOUCHED DOWN. I CALLED MY ACFT AND EXECUTED A GAR. WE CLBED OUT AND MISSED THE OTHER ACFT WHO WAS STILL ROLLING BEFORE ADDING PWR. I JUST LET HIM DO THE WRONG THING AND TAKE IT TOO FAR. WE SHOULD HAVE EXECUTED A SIMULATED ENG OUT LNDG ON 25 (WE COULD HAVE MADE THAT EASILY), BUT I WANTED TO LET HIM GO THROUGH WITH HIS DECISION.
