Narrative:
Takeoff runway 22L, we had made normal noise abatement climb an were told by departure that we had traffic 10 O'clock at 3000' and that we should be through 4000' at that point on the O'hare 8 departure and were passing 3600'. We had visibility contact with the traffic and climb was expedited through 4000'. The traffic was still off to our left when we xed its flight path at approximately 4400', with a still increased rate of climb. No evasive action was taken. Our flight plan had a caution regarding the rigid climb restrictions for headings 330-060 on the O'hare 8 departure. We were aware of that restriction and as we were not in that heading range, we had missed the further 'fine print' giving the 8 mi 4000' restriction for any other heading departure. We felt that the flight plan caution should have included all climb restrictions and not just the 330-060 headings. The combination of the flight plan caution note and the departure plate wording is misleading and corrections should be made.

Title: ACR LGT ALT DEVIATION UNDERSHOT ALT CROSSING RESTRICTION ON SID FROM ORD.
Narrative: TKOF RWY 22L, WE HAD MADE NORMAL NOISE ABATEMENT CLB AN WERE TOLD BY DEP THAT WE HAD TFC 10 O'CLOCK AT 3000' AND THAT WE SHOULD BE THROUGH 4000' AT THAT POINT ON THE O'HARE 8 DEP AND WERE PASSING 3600'. WE HAD VIS CONTACT WITH THE TFC AND CLB WAS EXPEDITED THROUGH 4000'. THE TFC WAS STILL OFF TO OUR L WHEN WE XED ITS FLT PATH AT APPROX 4400', WITH A STILL INCREASED RATE OF CLB. NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS TAKEN. OUR FLT PLAN HAD A CAUTION REGARDING THE RIGID CLB RESTRICTIONS FOR HDGS 330-060 ON THE O'HARE 8 DEP. WE WERE AWARE OF THAT RESTRICTION AND AS WE WERE NOT IN THAT HDG RANGE, WE HAD MISSED THE FURTHER 'FINE PRINT' GIVING THE 8 MI 4000' RESTRICTION FOR ANY OTHER HDG DEP. WE FELT THAT THE FLT PLAN CAUTION SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED ALL CLB RESTRICTIONS AND NOT JUST THE 330-060 HDGS. THE COMBINATION OF THE FLT PLAN CAUTION NOTE AND THE DEP PLATE WORDING IS MISLEADING AND CORRECTIONS SHOULD BE MADE.
