Narrative:
The flight was a commercial pilot practical test. After entering the traffic pattern from a right base leg a single engine approach and landing was accomplished on runway 35L. After takeoff and gear retract a simulated failure of the left engine was accomplished. After the applicant accomplished the appropriate emergency procedure he retarded the left propeller lever to the feather detent. At that time I set the left throttle to approximately 8-9' hg manifold pressure (below scale). The student flew a left cross and downwind. Due to the reduced performance associated with the simulated engine failure the downwind was lower than normal. After receiving clearance for a touch and go on runway 35L, student placed the gear lever in the down position just prior to turning base. The noise associated with the extension was normal and the indications were checked. The aircraft touched down approximately 1000' from the approach end of runway 35L slightly left of centerline. The aircraft settled onto the runway and come to a stop approximately 3000' down the runway. Earlier in the flight during a simulated engine failure to left throttle was retarded to idle and the gear warning horn sounded. At no time on base or final did the gear warning horn sound.

Title: LIGHT TWIN ON TRAINING FLT LANDS GEAR UP.
Narrative: THE FLT WAS A COMMERCIAL PLT PRACTICAL TEST. AFTER ENTERING THE TFC PATTERN FROM A R BASE LEG A SINGLE ENG APCH AND LNDG WAS ACCOMPLISHED ON RWY 35L. AFTER TKOF AND GEAR RETRACT A SIMULATED FAILURE OF THE L ENG WAS ACCOMPLISHED. AFTER THE APPLICANT ACCOMPLISHED THE APPROPRIATE EMER PROC HE RETARDED THE L PROP LEVER TO THE FEATHER DETENT. AT THAT TIME I SET THE L THROTTLE TO APPROX 8-9' HG MANIFOLD PRESSURE (BELOW SCALE). THE STUDENT FLEW A L CROSS AND DOWNWIND. DUE TO THE REDUCED PERFORMANCE ASSOCIATED WITH THE SIMULATED ENG FAILURE THE DOWNWIND WAS LOWER THAN NORMAL. AFTER RECEIVING CLRNC FOR A TOUCH AND GO ON RWY 35L, STUDENT PLACED THE GEAR LEVER IN THE DOWN POS JUST PRIOR TO TURNING BASE. THE NOISE ASSOCIATED WITH THE EXTENSION WAS NORMAL AND THE INDICATIONS WERE CHKED. THE ACFT TOUCHED DOWN APPROX 1000' FROM THE APCH END OF RWY 35L SLIGHTLY L OF CTRLINE. THE ACFT SETTLED ONTO THE RWY AND COME TO A STOP APPROX 3000' DOWN THE RWY. EARLIER IN THE FLT DURING A SIMULATED ENG FAILURE TO L THROTTLE WAS RETARDED TO IDLE AND THE GEAR WARNING HORN SOUNDED. AT NO TIME ON BASE OR FINAL DID THE GEAR WARNING HORN SOUND.
