Narrative:
Advised tower ready for takeoff. Tower advised taxi into position and hold. Began taxi toward runway. Looked up and saw an air carrier medium large transport on short final almost to middle marker approach lights. Stopped my aircraft abruptly. May have crossed hold short line. Questioned tower controller, inquiring if he had cleared us into position to hold. Tower controller said he was just thinking about clearing us into position, then did again clear us into position. Apparently tower controller verbalizes his thoughts and cleared us into position as the thought went through his mind.

Title: TWR CTLR CLEARED MLG ONTO RWY WITH ACFT ON FINAL. FLT CREW CROSSED HOLD LINE, BUT HELD SHORT OF RWY.
Narrative: ADVISED TWR READY FOR TKOF. TWR ADVISED TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD. BEGAN TAXI TOWARD RWY. LOOKED UP AND SAW AN ACR MLG ON SHORT FINAL ALMOST TO MIDDLE MARKER APCH LIGHTS. STOPPED MY ACFT ABRUPTLY. MAY HAVE CROSSED HOLD SHORT LINE. QUESTIONED TWR CTLR, INQUIRING IF HE HAD CLRED US INTO POS TO HOLD. TWR CTLR SAID HE WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT CLRING US INTO POS, THEN DID AGAIN CLR US INTO POS. APPARENTLY TWR CTLR VERBALIZES HIS THOUGHTS AND CLRED US INTO POS AS THE THOUGHT WENT THROUGH HIS MIND.
