Narrative:
After we were cleared for takeoff, at about 110 KTS I had the IAS tower say 'widebody transport, hold your position' (or something close to that). I aborted the takeoff at a maximum speed of about 120 KTS and easily made the N-5 high speed turnoff with light braking and light reverse. Returned for takeoff west/O further delay. Controller explained that he made a mistake because he meant to 'hold' another aircraft taking off on another runway (runway oil?) and he got the call signs mixed up.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACFT ABORTED TKOF.
Narrative: AFTER WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF, AT ABOUT 110 KTS I HAD THE IAS TWR SAY 'WDB, HOLD YOUR POS' (OR SOMETHING CLOSE TO THAT). I ABORTED THE TKOF AT A MAX SPD OF ABOUT 120 KTS AND EASILY MADE THE N-5 HIGH SPD TURNOFF WITH LIGHT BRAKING AND LIGHT REVERSE. RETURNED FOR TKOF W/O FURTHER DELAY. CTLR EXPLAINED THAT HE MADE A MISTAKE BECAUSE HE MEANT TO 'HOLD' ANOTHER ACFT TAKING OFF ON ANOTHER RWY (RWY OIL?) AND HE GOT THE CALL SIGNS MIXED UP.
