Narrative:

We landed on runway 4R at kbos an clrd the runway on 33R. When we got to taxiway north at the end of runway 33R, we were cleared to the gate with no restrictions. We taxied south on north to the inner and then south on the inner toward the south terminal. As we passed abeam of pier a of the south terminal, the captain asked me if we could taxi between the fire station and the terminal. I looked down at the airport taxi chart and saw that the area between the fire station and terminal was a shaded area like all the ramp and should be suitable for taxi. I told the captain I saw no restriction. When I looked up I saw a truck in front of our right wing. The track was moving the same direction we were. I told the captain to slow down because we were heading for a truck. The captain slowed his taxi and turned to the left to avoid the truck. When we asked ground control about the truck we were informed that there was a veh road between the inner and the ramp. We could not see the lines on ramp because of the water on the ramp. Ground also told us we could not taxi between the fire station and the terminal because it is a closed area and there are X's on the ramp. We could not see the X's because of the water on the ramp. Airport taxi charts do not show roads for ground vehs. This information is important for flight crews so we can know where to expect ground vehs, especially in poor WX conditions when lines painted on the ramp are not visible. The charts should also show areas that are not suitable for taxi such as the area between the fire station and terminal in bos.

Title: MLG TAXIES ON CLOSED PORTION OF RAMP AT BOS.

Narrative: WE LANDED ON RWY 4R AT KBOS AN CLRD THE RWY ON 33R. WHEN WE GOT TO TXWY N AT THE END OF RWY 33R, WE WERE CLRED TO THE GATE WITH NO RESTRICTIONS. WE TAXIED S ON N TO THE INNER AND THEN S ON THE INNER TOWARD THE S TERMINAL. AS WE PASSED ABEAM OF PIER A OF THE S TERMINAL, THE CAPT ASKED ME IF WE COULD TAXI BTWN THE FIRE STATION AND THE TERMINAL. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE ARPT TAXI CHART AND SAW THAT THE AREA BTWN THE FIRE STATION AND TERMINAL WAS A SHADED AREA LIKE ALL THE RAMP AND SHOULD BE SUITABLE FOR TAXI. I TOLD THE CAPT I SAW NO RESTRICTION. WHEN I LOOKED UP I SAW A TRUCK IN FRONT OF OUR R WING. THE TRACK WAS MOVING THE SAME DIRECTION WE WERE. I TOLD THE CAPT TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE WE WERE HDG FOR A TRUCK. THE CAPT SLOWED HIS TAXI AND TURNED TO THE L TO AVOID THE TRUCK. WHEN WE ASKED GND CTL ABOUT THE TRUCK WE WERE INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A VEH ROAD BTWN THE INNER AND THE RAMP. WE COULD NOT SEE THE LINES ON RAMP BECAUSE OF THE WATER ON THE RAMP. GND ALSO TOLD US WE COULD NOT TAXI BTWN THE FIRE STATION AND THE TERMINAL BECAUSE IT IS A CLOSED AREA AND THERE ARE X'S ON THE RAMP. WE COULD NOT SEE THE X'S BECAUSE OF THE WATER ON THE RAMP. ARPT TAXI CHARTS DO NOT SHOW ROADS FOR GND VEHS. THIS INFO IS IMPORTANT FOR FLT CREWS SO WE CAN KNOW WHERE TO EXPECT GND VEHS, ESPECIALLY IN POOR WX CONDITIONS WHEN LINES PAINTED ON THE RAMP ARE NOT VISIBLE. THE CHARTS SHOULD ALSO SHOW AREAS THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR TAXI SUCH AS THE AREA BTWN THE FIRE STATION AND TERMINAL IN BOS.
