Narrative:
Lost a cylinder because of broken exhaust valve. Could not hold altitude so made an emergency landing in bare field. Was in radar contact with ict approach at time and kept them informed with what was happening at all times. No airplane damage.

Title: OFF ARPT LNDG MADE WHEN EMERGENCY DECLARED BY SMA PLT AS ENGINE LOSES POWER.
Narrative: LOST A CYLINDER BECAUSE OF BROKEN EXHAUST VALVE. COULD NOT HOLD ALT SO MADE AN EMER LNDG IN BARE FIELD. WAS IN RADAR CONTACT WITH ICT APCH AT TIME AND KEPT THEM INFORMED WITH WHAT WAS HAPPENING AT ALL TIMES. NO AIRPLANE DAMAGE.
