Narrative:
While working hnl approach, 118.3 'H' position I had 2 inbound targets/tracks to the inbound fix at terminal area boundary. Widebody transport Y was somewhere intrail of widebody transport X. Both ARTS tracks were in 'nat' (not ARTS tracked) mode and no primary target was observed. Both aircraft were on hnl cerap sector 3 (frequency 124.1). Approximately 1 mi northeast of bambo, ARTS acquired and primary target was observed on widebody transport X, level at 10000 ft. Within 30 seconds, widebody transport Y target was observed and ARTS acquisition occurred. Using a slew function, I slewed to measure distance between the 2 targets, the readout was 4.83 NM. This was less than prescribed of 5 NM. I attempted to call the sector to coordinate a turn to avoid conflict. At that point, I observed widebody transport Y in a turn to approximately 260 degree to 270 degree heading. Widebody transport Y was subsequently radar contact, changed to my frequency and landed without incident.

Narrative: WHILE WORKING HNL APCH, 118.3 'H' POS I HAD 2 INBOUND TARGETS/TRACKS TO THE INBOUND FIX AT TERMINAL AREA BOUNDARY. WDB Y WAS SOMEWHERE INTRAIL OF WDB X. BOTH ARTS TRACKS WERE IN 'NAT' (NOT ARTS TRACKED) MODE AND NO PRIMARY TARGET WAS OBSERVED. BOTH ACFT WERE ON HNL CERAP SECTOR 3 (FREQ 124.1). APPROX 1 MI NE OF BAMBO, ARTS ACQUIRED AND PRIMARY TARGET WAS OBSERVED ON WDB X, LEVEL AT 10000 FT. WITHIN 30 SECONDS, WDB Y TARGET WAS OBSERVED AND ARTS ACQUISITION OCCURRED. USING A SLEW FUNCTION, I SLEWED TO MEASURE DISTANCE BTWN THE 2 TARGETS, THE READOUT WAS 4.83 NM. THIS WAS LESS THAN PRESCRIBED OF 5 NM. I ATTEMPTED TO CALL THE SECTOR TO COORDINATE A TURN TO AVOID CONFLICT. AT THAT POINT, I OBSERVED WDB Y IN A TURN TO APPROX 260 DEG TO 270 DEG HDG. WDB Y WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RADAR CONTACT, CHANGED TO MY FREQ AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
