Narrative:
The captain in command of flight had delegated the leg of flight clt-atl to be flown by me. Before we could reach cruise altitude the aft flight attendant advised the cockpit, in person, that a passenger was unruly and causing a disturbance and would not situation down. The captain told me to take over completely while he personally checked on the passenger in question. I heard some shouting and the captain returned to the cockpit and resumed his station and duties while informing the company of the disturbance.
