Narrative:
While flying the milton arrival to lga, new york approach, frequency 127.3, the controller advised us of VFR traffic, 10 O'clock and 5 mi. No visual contact was made, a TA was received from TCASII followed immediately by a TCASII RA commanding a climb. A climb to 12000 ft was performed during which the conflicting traffic was sighted passing directly below us approximately 1500 ft below. After clear descent was made to previously assigned altitude, controller was advised of the TCASII advisory, climb and descent.

Narrative: WHILE FLYING THE MILTON ARR TO LGA, NEW YORK APCH, FREQ 127.3, THE CTLR ADVISED US OF VFR TFC, 10 O'CLOCK AND 5 MI. NO VISUAL CONTACT WAS MADE, A TA WAS RECEIVED FROM TCASII FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY A TCASII RA COMMANDING A CLB.
