Narrative:
After aircraft was leveled off at 31000, cabin altitude continued to climb. Trouble shooting efforts failed to rectify the situation. An emergency was declared with washington center. We received clearance for an emergency descent. We descended along J75 sbound. No conflicts were reported and no problems were noted with our passengers. A timely descent prevented the cabin altitude getting to the point at which oxygen masks deploy. We diverted into gso. Landing and taxi into gate was uneventful.
