Narrative:
During climb out (departure airport Q24) en route to sgr, we were given a clearance to climb to and maintain FL230 with further climb clearance in 5 mi. While passing through FL200 we got a TA on our TCASII ivsi installed, maximum range 15 mi. Traffic indicated 1700 ft above our altitude and descending at 12 O'clock opposite direction with an extremely fast closure rate. After the third radio transmission to fort worth center we saw an MTR pass off of our left side. TCASII indication was 200 ft below and approximately 900 ft horizontal. Fort worth center only then responded 'traffic no factor' with no previous TA or confirmation. At this time we questioned the controller about our situation and reported our near miss. We copied telephone numbers and names of controllers and called once we landed.

Title: CPR LTT CLOSE PROX WITH MTR SE OF LBB.
Narrative: DURING CLBOUT (DEP ARPT Q24) ENRTE TO SGR, WE WERE GIVEN A CLRNC TO CLB TO AND MAINTAIN FL230 WITH FURTHER CLB CLRNC IN 5 MI. WHILE PASSING THROUGH FL200 WE GOT A TA ON OUR TCASII IVSI INSTALLED, MAX RANGE 15 MI. TFC INDICATED 1700 FT ABOVE OUR ALT AND DSNDING AT 12 O'CLOCK OPPOSITE DIRECTION WITH AN EXTREMELY FAST CLOSURE RATE. AFTER THE THIRD RADIO XMISSION TO FORT WORTH CENTER WE SAW AN MTR PASS OFF OF OUR L SIDE. TCASII INDICATION WAS 200 FT BELOW AND APPROX 900 FT HORIZ. FORT WORTH CENTER ONLY THEN RESPONDED 'TFC NO FACTOR' WITH NO PREVIOUS TA OR CONFIRMATION. AT THIS TIME WE QUESTIONED THE CTLR ABOUT OUR SITUATION AND RPTED OUR NEAR MISS. WE COPIED TELEPHONE NUMBERS AND NAMES OF CTLRS AND CALLED ONCE WE LANDED.
