Narrative:
Approached gate under marshaller's guidance. I slowed aircraft expecting a stop signal. The marshaller then gave me a definite continue on indication with the wands and finally a stop signal. Aircraft was stopped on the medium large transport stop line. #1 engine struck the jet bridge and damaged the top of cowling.

Title: ACR MLG HIT JET BRIDGE TAXIING TO THE GATE AT EWR UNDER MARSHALLER'S GUIDANCE.
Narrative: APCHED GATE UNDER MARSHALLER'S GUIDANCE. I SLOWED ACFT EXPECTING A STOP SIGNAL. THE MARSHALLER THEN GAVE ME A DEFINITE CONTINUE ON INDICATION WITH THE WANDS AND FINALLY A STOP SIGNAL. ACFT WAS STOPPED ON THE MLG STOP LINE. #1 ENG STRUCK THE JET BRIDGE AND DAMAGED THE TOP OF COWLING.
