Narrative:

I was assigned first officer duties on flight from hkg to anc with captain and a relief first officer. Before departure I noticed personality conflict with the captain and relief first officer. Before engine start, the relief first officer sat in the first observer's seat. The captain asked the relief first officer to leave the seat and let the mechanic occupy the seat. The relief first officer went to the jumpseat. About 7 hours into the flight, I asked the captain to be relieved to go to the rest area and have the relief first officer come situation in the first officer seat. He said I could go back to the rest area, but no need to have relief first officer come forward. After 1 hour, I was awakened by the relief first officer and we observed the captain in the toilet. I returned to the first officer seat and continued the flight without incident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states he and relief officer went to company who went to FAA. Hearing held, trial held. NTSB upheld the FAA recommendation for emergency revocation of captain certificate. The dispute was apparently over union issues. Does not know if captain will appeal.
